Sojourn

Sojourn

By J. Lynne Moore

Ask me not,
What’s in my brain;
Thoughts are shallow
Intelligence vain.

Memories drown,
In mediocrity,
Awaiting rescue
From loves apogee.

Shall I surrender,
To this abomination?
Or rally my soul,
Through ample determination?

The way is clear,
Though the sojourn long.
When I triumph…
Who can count me wrong?
